01

Who operates Casualer

Casualer is created and operated by UPDATE REQUIRED: full name and postal address. The operator can be contacted at [email protected].

Casualer is currently provided as a free, non-commercial hobby project. It does not charge subscription fees, display advertising, or sell games or user data.

02

What the service provides

Casualer lets users keep a private game library, including game statuses, ratings, playtime, play dates, hardware, platforms, tags, reviews, notes, image attachments, manual or automatic lists, and yearly or custom rankings of the games in that library. Processing of personal data is described separately in the Privacy Policy.

  • Guest mode provides a server-backed library tied to the current browser.
  • A registered account provides access to its library across supported devices and browsers.
  • Registered users can export and import their library and submit private feedback.
  • Registered users can import a Steam library by signing in to Steam, which confirms ownership of a Steam account and reads its list of owned games and playtime. Casualer stores no Steam password and keeps no permanent link to the Steam account.
  • Game catalogue search and cover information depend on external catalogue services.

Casualer is a personal organisation tool. It does not provide access to games, game licences, gameplay, cloud saves, or accounts held with game publishers or platforms.

03

Starting to use Casualer

An agreement to use Casualer is formed when a user accepts the current Terms in the interface. Before acceptance, a new guest may be shown a read-only example library, but cannot create or change library content.

UPDATE REQUIRED: implement and verify initial Terms acceptance for newly created accounts and guests before publication

If you are not legally able to enter into this agreement yourself, you may use Casualer only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

04

Registered accounts

Registration requires an email address and password. Users must provide an address they are entitled to use, keep their sign-in details secure, and promptly update or secure the account if they suspect unauthorised access.

Accounts are personal and must not be sold, transferred, or used to impersonate another person. A registered user can change account details, export the library, or delete the account through account settings, subject to the security checks shown there.

05

Guest mode

A guest library is stored on the Casualer server and restored through a random guest_id cookie. It is not a permanent account and is available only while the browser keeps a valid guest identity and the server still retains the related library.

  • The guest identity cookie expires after 90 days unless stated otherwise.
  • Qualifying activity refreshes the server-side retention window for up to 90 days.
  • Casualer does not provide an account-recovery process for guest libraries. If the guest identifier is permanently lost, access to the library may not be recoverable.
  • Guest libraries do not support product export or import.
  • Registering from the active guest session upgrades the same library in place.

Users who want durable, cross-device access should create a registered account. More detail about guest identifiers and retention is available in the Privacy Policy.

06

Your library and content

Users retain any rights they hold in reviews, notes, list descriptions, and uploaded attachments. By adding content, a user gives the operator a non-exclusive permission to store, copy, back up, process, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and restore Casualer.

The permission ends when the content is deleted, except where a temporary copy remains in a rotating backup or limited retention is required by law, security needs, or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights to upload their content. Private library content is not intentionally published to other users.

07

Acceptable use

Users must not use Casualer to:

  • provide unlawful content or content that infringes another person's rights;
  • upload malware, corrupted files, or material intended to compromise the service or another system;
  • bypass access controls, rate limits, account isolation, or other security measures;
  • probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, or automate access to the service without permission;
  • access another user's library or credentials without authorisation;
  • misuse feedback, account, import, export, or recovery functions.

Users should not place passwords, financial information, special-category personal data, or confidential information about other people in reviews, notes, attachments, or feedback.

08

Technical requirements and risks

Using Casualer requires an internet connection and a reasonably current browser that supports HTTPS, cookies, local browser storage, and common web standards. JavaScript and local browser storage are required for the complete interactive experience. Individual functions may impose content, file, request, or rate limits shown in the interface.

Internet services carry ordinary risks such as temporary unavailability, transmission errors, device or browser failure, unauthorised access, and loss of a guest cookie. Users should keep their browser and device secure. Registered users should periodically export any library they cannot readily recreate.

09

Availability and external services

Casualer is provided on a best-effort basis without a service-level guarantee. Maintenance, security work, failures, or dependencies may temporarily limit or interrupt some functions.

Catalogue search and cover data are supplied through IGDB/Twitch. Steam sign-in and the Steam library import are supplied through Valve's Steam services. Email, traffic protection, analytics, and feedback delivery may rely on the providers identified in the Privacy Policy. Casualer does not control the availability or terms of those external services and may change or remove an integration when necessary.

A Steam import depends on the Steam account's own privacy settings and on Steam being reachable, so it can be unavailable or incomplete for reasons outside the operator's control. An import matches Steam entries against the game catalogue; entries with no catalogue match are reported rather than added.

Game titles, covers, names, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Casualer is not affiliated with or endorsed by IGDB, Twitch, Valve/Steam, game publishers, platform operators, or hardware manufacturers unless explicitly stated.

10

Ending or restricting access

A registered user can end the agreement by deleting the account. A guest can stop using Casualer at any time; the guest library expires under the retention rules described above.

The operator may temporarily restrict access to protect the service, investigate abuse, comply with the law, or respond to a security incident. Access may be restricted immediately when waiting would create a material security or legal risk.

Because Casualer is a hobby project, the operator may eventually discontinue it. Where reasonably possible, registered users will receive advance notice and time to export their libraries before permanent closure.

11

Complaints and contact

Service complaints can be sent to [email protected]. A complaint should identify the affected account or guest session where possible, describe the problem, state when it occurred, and explain the requested resolution. Do not send a password or authentication token.

The operator will respond to a complaint within 14 days of receiving it. Privacy requests are handled separately under the Privacy Policy.

12

Responsibility, changes, and law

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits any mandatory rights available to a consumer. Subject to those rights, Casualer does not promise uninterrupted availability or that every external catalogue result will be complete or accurate.

These Terms may change for legal, security, operational, or service-development reasons. Material changes will be announced in advance where reasonably possible. Users who do not accept a material new version will be able to end their use of Casualer; registered users will be given a reasonable opportunity to export and delete their accounts.

These Terms are governed by Polish law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply under their local law. Disputes may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law.
