About Casualer

Casualer is a personal game journal. It keeps track of what you're playing, when you started and finished, what you thought of it, and what you might play next. It is not a social network and not a store.

Why it exists

I built it for myself. I wanted one place for the game I'm playing now, the lists I keep (co-op games to play with my wife, others with my brother), and the games I keep an eye on, without a store wishlist that only grows.

I wanted to rate what I finished and keep notes while playing, so that when I talk about a game later I remember what I loved and what hurt.

The tools I tried felt complicated, or put other people's scores and comments in front of my own. So I made something calm, where your game page shows your opinion, and that is pleasant to use and to look at.

Your data

You can try Casualer as a guest, with no account. A guest library is stored on the Casualer server, and this browser's cookie is what gives you access to it: clear the cookie and the library may be lost, and an inactive guest library expires after 90 days.

Create an account from your guest session and the same library becomes yours to keep - on any device, with export and import in your account settings.

The service is backed up daily, but keep a downloaded copy yourself. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

How it's run

Casualer is a hobby project, made and run by me, Michał Czarnota. I use it every day myself, so I keep it running. If I ever decide to close it, I'll notify registered users in advance and give them time to export their libraries wherever reasonably possible. While I run Casualer, no features will sit behind a paywall.
